The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is the largest scientific and clinical organisation in respiratory medicine in Europe with a growing membership spanning over 160 countries. Scientists, clinicians, allied healthcare professionals and other experts from around the world are members of this organisation who focus on science, education and advocacy in order to promote lung health, alleviate suffering from disease and drive standards for respiratory medicine globally. The Indian Chest Society (ICS) is a not-for-profit society for Pulmonologists and other Physicians with an interest in the specialty of Pulmonology. ICS aims to disseminate knowledge and research in the field of Respiratory Medicine, organizing academic conferences, meetings, workshops, patient awareness and educational programmes at International, National, Zonal and sub-zonal levels. The Society also has an advocacy role with the Government and other Non-Governmental Organizations for the betterment of the speciality.
